Reconstruction and Rebuilding After Property Damage

Mitigation stops the damage. Reconstruction is what actually gets you your house back.

Most restoration companies dry the structure, remove what is ruined, and hand you a list of contractors. That is where a lot of claims stall - the mitigation work is done, the house is torn open, and the homeowner is left to find, schedule, and manage a rebuild while an adjuster waits on a scope nobody has written.

We do both halves. The crew that documented the damage writes the reconstruction scope, which means the estimate matches what was actually removed and why, and there is no gap where one contractor blames another for something that was missed.

The work covers whatever the loss took out. Framing repair and structural replacement, drywall hung and finished to match the existing texture, flooring, cabinetry, trim, paint, and the electrical and plumbing work that goes with an opened wall. For fire losses that usually means framing and roof structure as well.

Matching matters more than people expect. A repair that is technically sound but visibly different from the surrounding room reads as damage every time you walk past it. We work to match existing textures, profiles, and finishes so the repair disappears rather than announcing itself.

Why one contractor for both phases matters

No handoff gap

The team that removed the material knows exactly what is behind the wall. Nothing gets lost explaining it to a second contractor.

One scope for the adjuster

Mitigation and rebuild documented together means one consistent estimate, which moves through claims review faster than two competing ones.

No scheduling dead time

Reconstruction starts as soon as moisture readings clear, rather than after weeks of finding and booking a separate contractor.

Single point of accountability

If something is wrong at the end, there is no argument about whether it was a mitigation problem or a rebuild problem.

What reconstruction covers

  • Drywall installation, taping, and texture matched to the existing finish
  • Flooring replacement - hardwood, tile, laminate, carpet, and luxury vinyl
  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, countertops, and fixture installation

  • Electrical and plumbing repair associated with the damage and rebuild
  • Roofing and exterior siding replacement
  • Permit coordination and inspection scheduling where required

Common Questions

Reconstruction Services questions

What Utah property owners ask us most about reconstruction services.

How long does reconstruction take after water damage?

A single room with drywall and flooring replacement usually runs one to three weeks once drying is verified complete. Larger losses involving multiple rooms, cabinetry, or structural framing run one to three months, with material lead times and permit approvals typically driving the schedule more than the labour.

Will my repair match the rest of the house?

That is the goal, and it is where most repairs fall down. We match drywall texture, trim profile, and finish to what is already there. For discontinued flooring or cabinetry we will tell you honestly when an exact match is not available and walk you through the options before ordering.

Do you handle the permits?

Yes. Structural work, electrical, and plumbing generally require permits, and we handle the applications and inspection scheduling with the relevant Utah municipality. Cosmetic repairs like drywall, paint, and flooring usually do not require them.
